Prime Quarter Steak House (Green Bay)

Looking through our guidebooks for somewhere interesting and fun to have dinner, we happened upon the Prime Quarter Steak House. Now a steak house is not somewhere I normally would go since we weren't eating meat, but they had a nice fish selection so we decided to give it a go and here's why ... what's really unique about this place is that you cook the food yourself (so pretty much, you burn it, you're of luck). I thought the kids would get a real kick out cooking their own meal, and maybe they might even start to understand what it means for Mom to cook dinner for them every night.

After paying our bill first, we grabbed a plate and walked up to the refrigerator to pick our selections. Everyone got their piece of fish and set off to the enormous grills that were in the center. After a thorough seasoning we set the fish on the hot grates.  Everybody manned their dinner while I roamed around making sure no one got burned or ended up with  charcoal.  The kids also had fun making the specialty of the house, Texas toast. After the kids were seated and happily eating, I made my dinner and then joined them.  I'll be totally honest, I wasn't impressed with anyone's culinary skills, (although Isaac did show some promise with his technique) but it was a lot of fun and I know the kids had a great time.  I think our takeaway though was that when we go out to a restaurant, we want the pleasure of having our food cooked by a pro. It isn't as easy as it looks!
