Silverton is just a picture perfect old western mining town high up in the Rocky Mountains. With adorable shops and restaurants there's lots to explore from old time saloons, candy shops and tons of other stuff to check out that feels like a real trip back in history, when the West was the new frontier. We stopped for lunch at Handlebars Food and Saloon and were greeted up our arrival by an a guy dressed in late 1800's attire banging out tunes from the same period. There was so much to look at here as the restaurant was covered in western kitsch, artifacts and photos. A real hodge-podge of western stuff. Everyone was cranky and recovering from a little car sickness so it was Cokes all around. The food was delish and everyone was happy which when you are traveling with 5 kids, is no small thing. With bellies full we headed to our next stop to do some gold mining.
