Shari and her husband Shep love to go white water rafting, so she convinced the rest of us greenhorns to give it a try. We took a wonderful and very mellow rafting trip on the Yellowstone River with our rower/guide, Tom, from Wild West Whitewater Rafting. They have all kinds of boats and gear and offer all kinds of trips. Our ride was about 1½ hours long and we loved every minute of it. We rowed along the river through the area known as Big Sky. Big Sky is a slice of heaven on earth and apparently many a celebrity has a ranch here. It is just beyond gorgeous. Our guide let all the kids take a try at rowing and they were just thrilled to take the oars. As we were rowing along Joel's hat flew off in the wind into the river. With some quick thinking on Tom's part and a helpful hand from an older boy sailing with us we were able to get Joel's hat back on his head. We loved our trip so much we went back the next morning before we hit the road to go on another trip that was slightly more wild. Woo Hoo. I am not hooked like Shari, but I’ll admit it was a really good time! DO NOT MISS!
