The Badlands National Park is incredibly beautiful. I have never seen rock formations with so many gorgeous colors. The striations of greens and blues, reds and golds were just breathtaking. What is so strange is that the surrounding landscape is totally flat prairie and then all of a sudden there is this incredible rock canyon that looks like it was carved out by millions of years of rushing water. How did it happen? Is this a remnant of earths formation? We stepped out onto the viewing platform and gazed out and were just awestruck. A little like the Grand Canyon and a little like Bryce but definitely and original. Do not miss one of Mother Nature's most incredible masterpieces... (yeah-I took that photo, and a ton more and each one was better than the next)
