So I am not sure what I was thinking taking my kids to Laughlin. I thought it would be a mini Vegas but with a more country down home vibe, like paddle wheeler boats you know, that sort of thing. Well, what can I say—it's not a real family-friendly place. I liken it to Vegas’ ugly stepsister. Lots of casinos and gambling, and not much in the way of family fun. Perhaps if the weather had been warmer and we’d gone in the summer there would have been more things to do on the lake there. We checked out the casinos and walked around, but overall this stop was a bust! Watching seniors hooked up to slot machines by a key card on a stretchy cord and gambling away their retirement in a smoke filled haze made me very sad…sorry Laughlin.
