If you haven't seen the movie "A Perfect Storm" with George Clooney, you should see it before you visit so that you understand the reverence with which this town holds its fisherman. The memorial is a little tough to find as there's no physical address, but head to the shore and follow the flags and you should find it-or just ask someone who lives there. It's a hugely moving memorial honoring all the fisherman who lost their lives at sea from the 1700's up until the present. Each person's name is listed. My kids and I reflected on the power of nature and the great effort that it takes to bring fish to our table and the sadness the town feels for those lost at sea.
