San Antonio is a really pleasant city, and at it’s center is the wonderful River Walk. Winding waterways run through a lively area filled with shops, restaurants, and even some hotels. There are little boats that cruise the waterways, giving tours and also serve as water taxi's. The San Antonio River Walk is also pretty famous for hosting Fiesta Week, a wonderful celebration of the San Antonio culture kind of like Mardi Gras but with a Texan spin. The same boats are used during Fiesta Week as parade floats accompanied by live music and dancing. The day we arrived we decided to explore taking a boat tour and then walking around to find some good eats. It’s a beautiful place to have lunch or dinner and take in the sights, smells, and festive atmosphere of San Antonio. We decided to partake in some Mexican food and ordered up at Barriba Cantina sampling some of the local fare like chips and guacamole, some tacos, tamales and enchiladas not to mention some churros for dessert. It was all delicious! Afterwards we walked off our meal exploring the many interesting shops and listening to some live Tejano music before calling it a night. The river walk is just an outstanding place to hang out, people watch, shop and eat.
