This was a fun little stop on our way to Zion National Park. The Virgin Trading Post is a cross between a petting zoo and a Wild West park. It's a quirky little mishmash of animals and western kitsch perfect for a million photo opportunities and a great place for everyone to stretch their legs. The kids had a great time feeding carrots to miniature horses, and petting sheep and other animals-the carrots by the way are available for sale in the gift shop.. We also got to explore covered wagons and teepees—great conversation starters about American history-we talked about what it would be like to travel in a covered wagon which is kind of like the original RV of it's day. We also talked about the lifestyle of Native Americans and how a teepee was a portable home and how that compared to the home we live in. This is a great stop for younger kids to have a good time, and pick up a quirky souvenir or two at the gift shop. A fun, quick stop.
