Zion National Park

Zion National Park is so awe inspiring.  This was the first National Park I'd ever been to in my whole life so I wasn't sure what to expect. Thankfully it was super visitor-friendly, with a shuttle bus that picks you up at the visitor’s center and does a big loop stopping at the major focal points in the park. You can hop on and hop off at any of the stops which is what we did and the bus driver gives a kind of mini tour which was really helpful. The rock formations are truly impressive, but what is really incredible are the rock climbers scaling them! Sometimes it can take climbers more than one day to get to the top, so they perch little hammocks right into the cliff faces. Talk about scary, can you imagine sleeping like that on the sheer side of a rock wall? Since the kids were small, we treated the park as a really cool nature walk and talked about the rocks and plants. There are horses and trail rides, but we opted not to do it. After our loop, we went to the café and had ice cream sandwiches. Very impressive as far as national parks go. I rate this one a DO NOT MISS!
