The storied vacation spot on the eastern seaboard. Wow, what are they giving away here for free? I cannot even begin to tell you how much traffic there was to get here. While the area is very charming and picturesque, maybe I missed something. Unless you have a house here, and come here for a significant amount of time, I am not sure I get it. Lots of cute shops and beaches, but definitely not worth the traffic, which went on for miles and miles-it was insane. When we finally got settled, we took a harbor cruise near Hyannis but truthfully, we couldn’t wait to escape the cape and left at 7am the next morning otherwise we’d be stuck in traffic for 3 hours just to get over the Sagamore Bridge.
We missed the Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory as it was closed. It also would have been nice to see a cranberry bog but I guess they weren’t in season. Cape Cod is somewhere you need to settle in and take the time to enjoy which on a road trip is tough to do. If you like lobster, do sample some of the local fare. We are more of the Fish and Chips types and discovered Haddock, is a local fish that makes amazing fish and chips.
