Is there anything more "New York City" than a ride on the Subway? After riding on this amazing feat of engineering, I am convinced the city would come to a complete halt without this modern marvel. What a fast and convenient way to get around the city especially when traffic is bad. If you are visiting, it is definitely a must try experience.
Like anything new, it was a little confusing at first but thanks to Google Maps we were able to find the subways stops very easily. Once you figure out where you are, where you want to go and what train you need to catch in the right direction-head into the subway and buy a ticket. There are automated machines where you can purchase tickets or cards that you can load so you don't have to keep buying tickets. Once you're through the turnstiles, hop on your train and enjoy the ride.
I loved checking out each station as we arrived at each stop taking in the beautiful tile work. People were generally friendly as we tried to blend in as best we could. We even took the subway into Brooklyn. Fast, convenient, and even fun. It's a must for anyone exploring New York City and a DO NOT MISS in out book!
