Wisconsin is known across the country for it's delicious cheese, and so we decided to break up the drive from Madison to Green Bay by sampling cheese at various stops along the way. Wow, were we lucky that we happened to wander into The Wisconsin Cheese Mart, as this amazing cheese store claims to have the world’s largest selection of Wisconsin cheese. By the looks of the cases I wouldn’t doubt it, this store was chock full of every type of cheese you could imagine. Vermont is also famous for cheddar cheese, and no one does it better than Cabot Creamery. We headed up to the factory in Cabot and learned all about the cheese making process. What could be better than dinner at a cozy fireside lodge on the snowy slopes of Park City? Not much except maybe a sleigh ride to get there. The Tillamook Creamery was one of the first factory tours we ever did and afterwards we were hooked. Inside you will learn that the Tillamook Creamery is a co-op. What that means is the local dairy farmers pool their resources together to create the finest quality dairy products and then they share the profits.
