The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum has some of the most amazing artwork and while some of it is traditional sculptures and paintings, much of is decorative and embellishment of typical cowboy related items like saddles, spurs clothing etc. The museum also highlights the history and culture of the American Cowboy from it's earliest beginnings to today. The Oklahoma City National Memorial was a particularly difficult stop. The Omniplex Science Museum of Oklahoma is another terrific science museum. The Pioneer Woman Museum is just a gem of a museum, not because it has super glamorous displays or fun interactive exhibits, but because it inspires wonderful conversations about the challenges of being a pioneer and what that meant for women and families. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame is where you can find everything you always wanted to know about wrestling, all in one location. Since we were passing through and needed a pit stop to stretch our legs I thought this would be something interesting and educational even if it was just a quick visit. The Oklahoma State Capitol Building is one of my most memorable and favorite capitol buildings of the many I have visited . Everywhere you look there are incredible paintings and murals that are so vivid and bright. The artwork depicts the history and spirit of Oklahoma as well as it's connection to oil. Discoverlyland USA is home to an outdoor amphitheater on the outskirts of Tulsa where they preform the musical Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! I bought tickets, thinking how cool it would be to sit outside and watch Oklahoma! IN Oklahoma. We grabbed our snack and our seats and waited for the show to start.
